Her career has encompassed everything from managing editorial teams to writing in-depth features on national and local issues and hosting and moderating debates and panels.
Her true passion lies in telling good stories.

Mentorship sessions
Simran has served as a mentor for several media organizations, such as Didihood, the University of British Columbia’s student newspaper, and the Canadian Association of Journalists. In her role as a mentor, She proudly worked closely with young journalists to support their learning with writing and story development. Furthermore, she has advised on a variety of topics such as: building confidence as a reporter, creating strong relationships with editors, taking on salary negotiations, and strategies to develop as a newsroom leader.
